The world oldest spectating sport is said to be cock fighting. It goes back 6,000 years in Persia. Fighting rooster has been found in the 6th century BC seal of Jaazaniah, It is one of the earliest depictions of a fighting rooster ever recovered.

‘Sabong’, as it is known locally in the Philippines, is what we commonly know as simply ‘Cock-Fighting’. It has been a part of the Philippine culture history going back at least 700 years. Sabong is legal in the Philippines and regulated as well. It is a level playing field that allows even the poorest common man to have a chance at winning some good money from the wealthier Sabong aficionados.

Coming from a filipino decent it was a natural choice to decide to name my shop after the year of the rooster.

It was the blade and its precision that connected the commonality and purpose with tattooing.
